Park Ridge Alderpersons Vote Down Speeding Up LED Streetlight Switch Amendment

Park Ridge’s Finance and Budget Committee of the Whole signed off on the city’s preliminary 2025 budget and tax levy on Monday (Dec. 2). Notably, the alderpersons re-voted on a budget amendment that would’ve required the city to speed up retrofitting streetlights with LEDs. Because Ald. Fred Sanchez (2nd) was absent at the Nov. 18 budget workshop, the council ended up deadlocking 3-3 on the amendment. On Monday, the amendment was defeated by a 3-4 vote.
